Last updated on Fri 22/07/2022 - 14:54

A Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious materials scientist, chemist or chemical engineer to undertake research in the field of ceramic-graphene composites. The post is supported by a grant from EPSRC/TSB under the ‘Realising the Graphene Revolution’ Initiative. Work will be undertaken in association with our industry partner European Thermodynamics Ltd. This project aims to develop routes to prepare ceramic-graphene thermoelectric composites. It will involve both preparation and characterisation of the composites. You will be expected to publish academic papers and contribute towards patenting new concepts.

You should have a PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and a strong publication track record. It would be advantageous to have competence in carbon nanomaterials, transmission and scanning electron microscopy and/or Raman spectroscopy, and powder processing. You will be part of a growing functional materials team in the School of Materials.
