GMG launches G FLUID, a graphene-based coolant additive for data center cooling systems

Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) has launched G FLUID™, a patent-pending graphene water-based additive designed to improve heat transfer and curb microbial growth in data center and industrial cooling circuits. The product is sold as a 1-liter concentrate dosed at a 1:100 ratio into existing coolant loops, and targets the cooling water treatment chemicals market.

In preliminary internal testing, dosing demineralized water with G FLUID™ at 1%, providing 0.01% graphene by weight in the final solution, increased heat transfer by approximately 20%. Independent third-party laboratory testing to the EN 1276 standard found the same dosing reduced microbial growth by up to 87%, a factor GMG says matters for operators managing corrosion, fouling and maintenance costs in chiller systems.

"G FLUID™ lets a data center, industrial plant or building operator improve the heat transfer of the water or coolant already running through their cooling loop, at a simple 1% dose rate," said Craig Nicol, GMG's Managing Director and CEO. "Independent laboratory testing to the EN 1276 standard also shows a meaningful reduction in microbial growth in that same water... We're launching first into data centers, where cooling demand is growing fastest, but the same dosage works in industrial process chillers and building chiller systems, giving us a large market to grow into."

G FLUID™ is GMG's fourth energy-saving graphene product, joining THERMAL-XR® and G® LUBRICANT. "It gives GMG a foothold in a cooling water treatment market worth more than US$15 billion a year globally, growing quickly as AI-driven data center construction accelerates," said Jack Perkowski, GMG's Chairman and Director. "It's a strong example of how our graphene production capability keeps opening up new, commercially relevant applications across very different industries."

Alongside the launch, GMG announced it has submitted an amendment to its U.S. EPA application, seeking approval to manufacture, in addition to sell, graphene and its THERMAL-XR®, G® LUBRICANT and G FLUID™ products in the United States. The amendment replaces the Significant New Use Notice the company filed in June 2026, and GMG expects a decision by the end of September 2027; the existing Consent Order conditions covering THERMAL-XR® sales into the U.S. are unaffected.
