Premier Graphene and HGI Industrial Technologies have announced a new milestone in their strategic collaboration, with Premier completing the first manufacturing payment for the production of 1,600 protective military belts. The order is part of the second contract awarded by Mexico’s Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA).
The payment triggers the start of full-scale manufacturing, with HGI overseeing production, quality assurance, and execution to ensure compliance with SEDENA’s stringent requirements. Production activities are already underway, marking progress in the companies’ defense-related initiatives.
Epidemiologic Solutions Corporation (ESC), a U.S.-based public charity, facilitated the initiative by advancing the initial payment and guaranteeing the remaining production costs. ESC stated that its involvement aligns with its mission, citing the protective capabilities of the belts and their potential to enhance personnel safety. The organization has also expressed its intention to support future graphene-enhanced developments.
The companies emphasized that this project represents more than a single contract milestone. It reinforces a broader commitment to innovation in advanced materials, particularly graphene-based technologies. According to Pedro Mendez, President, the collaboration continues to expand into areas such as graphene-enhanced defense composites, aerospace coatings, quantum-related materials research, and critical mineral resource development across Mexico and South America.
The partners also highlighted their expectation that these efforts will contribute to long-term profitability while strengthening their position in advanced manufacturing and defense supply chains.
Looking ahead, Premier and HGI indicated that additional projects are in the pipeline, including products incorporating graphene enhancements. Their ongoing collaboration reflects a shared strategy focused on scaling advanced materials applications and supporting strategic industrial and defense initiatives across Latin America.
