Directa Plus announces plan to raise over $9 Million

Directa Plus has announced plans to raise £7 million (around USD$9,445,000) in a share placing to help accelerate the development of its graphene-based products.

Directa Plus has made consistent progress towards its goal of commercializing its graphene products and processes with a high quality, growing roster of customers, said Sir Peter Middleton, Directa Plus non-executive chairman. The fundraising will enable the company to accelerate that progress by providing funds for investment in what the board considers to be exciting opportunities".

Directa Plus set to sign air and water filtration development deal

Directa Plus has reported its plan to sign an agreement with a global chemicals and materials group, to co-develop products targeting the air and water filtration markets. The company remains unnamed, but is said to be a major player in the non-woven materials industry that is based in Italy.

The deal is set to run for an initial period of 12 months and will see the two parties collaborate exclusively to develop specific products for the global air and water filtration markets. If the initial collaboration is successful and the technical results are achieved, the two companies will negotiate a technical and commercial partnership agreement.

Directa Plus' graphene coatings used in two collections displayed at the Milan Design Week

Directa Plus has announced that its new G+ graphene coatings are being used in two collections at the Milan Design Week. During the event, designers, architects, creatives, producers and brands in furniture and upholstery and interior design show their new products and creations.

The graphene product is being displayed by two Italian companies: Plinio il Giovane, a central Milan based producer of high-end furniture and upholstery, and Danese Milano, a subsidiary of lighting company Artemide. The G+ coating has been used for Plinio il Giovane’s chairs and sofas and Danese Milano’s desk pad.

Directa Plus' Setcar unit awarded €1.15 million EU grant

Directa Plus has announced that its subsidiary, Setcar, has been awarded a €1.15 million grant under the EU's Regional Operational Program that supports small and medium-sized enterprises.

The grant will fund the purchase of additional equipment to be used in decontaminating oil and other substance tanks and to provide services for the clean-up of soils contaminated with petroleum products/pollutants.

Directa Plus secures government loan to accelerate business

Directa Plus recently announced that it has qualified for a total of €0.7 million in loans under the Italian government's Covid-19 recovery plan. The Company said it took advantage of the low-cost liquidity offered by the Italian Government, to accelerate its strategic program.

It said the funds were being provided in two tranches by Intesa Sanpaolo, being a €0.5 million loan and a €0.2 million leasing loan to fund the acquisition of new machinery for the company's production facility.

Cyclist wins Olympic silver medal in graphene-enhanced shirt by Directa Plus

Annemiek van Vleuten of the Dutch Cycling Team recently won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the road race, wearing a shirt printed with Directa Plus' graphene-enhanced Thermal Planar Circuit technology.

Directa Plus says new research supports the use of its graphene nano-materials in COVID face masks

Directa Plus recently stated that a research paper has been published in the journal iScience, supporting the use of its ‘functionalized’ graphene as an antimicrobial material in face masks.

The peer-reviewed paper said the company's G+ nanomaterials and those from graphene oxide provide a critical opportunity to significantly increase face mask efficacy.

Directa Plus' partner, NexTech Batteries, takes a step towards production of graphene-based batteries

Directa Plus recently updated that NexTech Batteries, with which Directa established a partnership for developing next-generation batteries, has established an Italian subsidiary to explore the feasibility of producing cathode active materials in Italy, where Directa Plus' graphene technology will be an important component.

NexTech's subsidiary, called NexTech Italia SpA, will look at producing these materials using Directa Plus' graphene nanoplatelets for the manufacture of lithium-sulphur batteries throughout Europe, "in order to accelerate the technology's commercialization".
