GRAFTA Nanotech

GRAFTA Nanotech is a Canada-based company that leverages the nanoscale structure of graphene to act as an adsorbent and capture water contaminants. Some of these contaminants are heavy metals, organic molecules, and even inorganic substances like ammonia. 

The Company’s solution, GRAFTA, comes in two variations: G1 and G2. G1 is a micro-sized particle featuring multiple graphene and graphene oxide layers while G2 incorporates a reducing agent. G2 thus targets hard-to-adsorb contaminants, like selenium, by converting them into a more readily adsorbed form. 

GRAFTA also minimizes leaching and reduces the risk of secondary contamination. It also integrates with existing permeable reactive barriers (PRBs) to offer a cost-effective approach to groundwater treatment. Thus, it benefits industries and municipalities dealing with groundwater contamination issues.
