Pleione Energy

Pleione Energy S.A is an International Joint Venture between the Greek company ADAMANT COMPOSITES and the German company OMNIDEA-RTG.

The company was established in 2015 and is located in Athens, Greece. It is part of the New Science & Technology Park of Attica “Lefkippos” of the National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) "Demokritos".

Pleione Energy's goal is to develop, design and produce cost-effective products for a more sustainable energy economy, focusing on the use of nanomaterials such as graphene.

The Company develops technological applications for the energy and space sectors. Its goal is to establish a rapid and cost-effective process of industrialization and commercialization of energy applications.

The Company worked with ESA on a project to industrialize the production of Li-ion battery electrodes incorporating graphene as their main active material, producing in the tens of meters at a time. These negative electrodes were used for Li-ion battery cells that were produced and tested according to European Cooperation for Space Standardization, ECSS, standards, representing space-ready quality.
