Research Associate - Graphene & 2D Material-based Heterostructures

Last updated on Fri 22/07/2022 - 14:54

This position is available for an outstanding and ambitious physicist or electrical engineer with a strong publication track record to undertake research in the field of graphene- and 2D-material-based heterostructures, particularly in the design, fabrication and characterization of novel electronic devices.

The applicant should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in physics or electrical engineering. Expertise in graphene and 2D-materials, nano-fabrication and optical and electrical characterization are essential.

Duties will include the development of suitable fabrication processes for electronic devices based on graphene and 2D-materials and their electrical and optical characterization, carrying out a challenging research program in close collaboration with the Condensed Matter Physics Group of the School of Physics & Astronomy and an industrial partner, as well as the dissemination of results.

The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering is committed to promoting equality and diversity, including the Athena SWAN charter for promoting women’s careers in STEMM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) in higher education. Applications from women are particularly wanted for this post. Appointment will always be made on merit.
