Saint Jean Carbon raises $500,000 in private placement

Saint Jean Carbon, a carbon science company engaged in the design and development of carbon materials and their applications, has announced its intention to complete a non-brokered private placement financing of up to $500,000. The Company intends to use the proceeds of the Offering for general corporate and administrative purposes.

In January 2017, Saint Jean Carbon received (along with Western University) a grant from the The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) towards the development of graphene-based systems with special magnetic properties. In June 2017, Saint Jean Carbon announced that it closed a financing round totaling in $667,500.

Focus Graphite announces first closing of a non-brokered private placement for $75,000

Focus Graphite logoFocus Graphite, the Canada-based advanced exploration and mining company, recently announced a first closing of a non-brokered private placement at which it has gathered proceeds of $75,000.

Focus also previously received a subscription for an additional $2,077,500, which funds have been deposited in trust pending the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals. The net proceeds from the sale of the units will be added to Focus’ working capital.

Nanotech Engineering's graphene-enhanced solar panel gains MIT's approval

Nanotech engineering logo imageNanotech Engineering announced that MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has verified the technology of its new Nanopanel, a solar panel that is declared as 92% efficient (as opposed to around 20% for traditional large panels).

Nanotech Engineering's Nanopanel is described as a solar panel with layers of Graphene as the base, a carbon nanotube forest on top with a mineral solution that can come in any color to match the home. The panel is slightly thicker and wider than a FedEx envelope, yet stronger than steel, flexible, lightweight, flexible and about half the cost of traditional panels, said Nanotech.

Gaming company launches graphene-enhanced SSD

Team Group, memory solutions and accessory provider, has announced the addition of new products to their existing T-FORCE gaming line of products. Among the new products is the T-FORCE CARDEA ZERO M.2 PCI-E solid-state drive, featuring graphene copper foil cooling on the SSD module allowing the SSD to maximize cooling benefits from both natural passive cooling and directed air cooling via fans to deliver excellent heat dissipation.

According to the company, the T-FORCE CARDEA ZERO M.2 PCI-E SSD is the world’s first super slim SSD on the market built specifically for gaming laptops and high-performance tablet PCs. Utilizing graphene provided by Nitronix and designing combinations of different proportions of graphene and copper foil, the patented graphene copper foil heat spreader was reportedly achieved through stringent multiple verification. It offers excellent thermal cooling effect even in a closed space.

Directa Plus signs G+ deal with Alfredo Grassi, reports narrowed interim loss

Directa Plus recently announced a new contract to supply its G+ graphene to Alfredo Grassi, an Italian manufacturer of protective clothing, workwear, and uniforms. The supply contract is expected to generate revenue of EUR600,000 (over $700,000 USD) for Directa over the next year and a half.

Directa reported a pretax loss of EUR2.1 million (around $2.5 million USD) for the half year to the end of June, narrowed from a loss of EUR3.8 million the prior year, on revenue of EUR278,492, down from EUR403,303. Directa attributed the fall in revenue to a reduction in volumes into the bicycle tyre segment. Directa highlighted it had 20 active customers in the period, however, compared to 11 in the first half of 2016.
