Directa Plus reports revenue growth in the first-half of 2018

Directa Plus has reported doubling its first-half revenues as more products containing the Company's graphene additives were launched. Revenues for the six months to June rose to €574,000 (€278,000), while losses reduced to €1.75 million from €2.1 million.

Clothing and accessory brands such as Alfredo Grassi, Arvind and Oakley are developing graphene-enhanced items using Directa’s G+ technology, while Grafysorber is a treatment to treat water contaminated with oil.

Giulio Cesareo, chief executive, said Directa Plus was making good strategic progress while the order pipeline was also building. "In textiles, we are delighted to have secured a second workwear order with Alfredo Grassi". " In the environmental sector, following the successful trial with OMV Petrom in Romania and the industrial plant engineered with Sartec, our Grafysorber based solution will soon be ready to roll out in world markets".

Cesareo said Directa will use a service model for Grafysorber to provide water cleaning services rather than simply selling the product. "Finally, the potential offered by Marangoni [tyre retreads] will see us applying our technology and skills acquired in the niche bicycle market to the very much larger global automotive markets where the incorporation of G+ graphene has material performance and durability benefits."
